Man's best friend was a very welcome addition to H-3.  Long before Therapy Dogs became known, they existed at H-3.  They were there to help make the lonely feel better, entertain people with their antics, have the homesick be reminded of their dogs back home and provide a lot of companionship to all the people at H-3.  Each part of H-3, the Air Force, the Navy, the civilian contractors of Federal Electric who maintained the Tropospheric Scatter communications systems and the local Icelandic citizens employed on the site had their favorite canines but all the canines loved all the H-3 people.
